Concrete mixer reliability generally can be divided into structural reliability and reliability of the mechanism. The structural reliability mainly considers the strength of the mechanical structure and the effect of the load on fatigue, wear and fracture. The main consideration of mechanism reliability is not the failure caused by the strength problem, but the failure caused by the action of the mechanism in the course of action.

Reliability design of concrete mixer can be divided into qualitative and quantitative reliability design. Based on analyzing the influence and perniciousness of failure mode, successful design experience can be specifically used to improve reliability of products designed, which is called qualitative reliability design. And what is quantitative reliability design? With sufficient knowledge about intensity distribution, stress distribution, and various design parameters of all components designed, products owning qualified reliability can be designed when implicit limit state function or explicit limit state function is established.

At present, mechanical reliability design is widely used, including structural reliability design and mechanism reliability, and it is the most direct and effective way to develop the reliability design of machines. However, due to lacking information on strength distribution and load distribution of materials, mechanical reliability design can only be adopted by key components.
